This week at Grammy Camp Jazz Session 2014 will be a busy and exiting week for the talented group of high school jazz musicians participating. Thirty two talented high school students fom across the United States have been given the opportunity to perform with GRAMMY winners and nominees such as the one and only Vampire Weekend, Delfeayo Marsalis, Aaron Parks, and many more. This year's GRAMMY Camp Jazz Session will be composed of the GRAMMY Choir, Band, Combo, and the GRAMMY in the Schools Media Team. This week will be filled with hard work as they reherse for some of their concerts at USC, Spaghettini, GITS Live!, and the GRAMMY afterparty. In between rehersals of course, they will be able to have a day to see colleges with rerenound music programs and have adventures exploring California!

Each student has just begun their adventure today, on January 17th in the beautiful sunny California. Many have arrived, some local Californians and others from across the United States to join their fellow musicians and new friends. They all have been anticipating this week after the hours they have spent practicing their music. Today everyone was able to meet each other and make new friends while having a great luch and having fun. After lunch everyone unpacked and then a few hours later headed towards the orientation dinner where GRAMMY Camp Jazz Session faculty and staff discussed their plans for us for the rest of the week.

Finally after their long and busy day, everyone was able to go to their rooms and sleep. Most of the campers will most likely not sleep too long because of their anticipation of what will happen tomorrow when they merge their musical talents together to create the GRAMMY Camp Jazz Session Band!
